AUSTIN, TEXAS — Two men were fatally shot at Cowboys, a digital game room in North Austin, on January 7th. Austin Police Department (APD) received calls around 4:46 a.m. about a disturbance and shooting at 9411 Parkfield Drive. Upon arrival, officers found Deondre Flint, 35, and Jamie Davis, 46, unresponsive with gunshot wounds; both died shortly after.

The investigation uncovered that Davis and his girlfriend, asked to leave the premises, were involved in a parking lot altercation with a female employee. The confrontation escalated, leading to a shootout involving Davis and the game room’s security, including Flint. During the exchange, Flint was shot by Davis, and Davis was shot by another security staff member.

A third individual, a woman, was hospitalized with non-fatal gunshot injuries. The involved security employee has cooperated with the APD, and the Travis County District Attorney’s office deemed his actions justified. Consequently, no charges have been filed nor are expected.

APD urges anyone with information to contact them at 512-974-TIPS or anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program at austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477.
