Why We Carry: Man With AR-15 Shoots Cars At Waffle House Parking Lot In Alabama

by Tommy Grant

DECATUR, ALABAMA — A Kentucky man, Demond Crumbaugh, 20, reportedly fired shots at multiple vehicles with an AR-15 rifle in a Waffle House parking lot in Decatur on Beltline Road S.W. around 2:55 a.m. Saturday. The police, already nearby, noticed a dark vehicle departing and found Crumbaugh inside, possessing the gun.

It is believed that he had a dispute with another individual at the Waffle House before the shooting.

Three vehicles were hit by bullets, with one being occupied. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Crumbaugh faces charges for shooting into vehicles and is detained at Morgan County Jail with a bond set at $10,000.

This story serves as yet another reason as to why we carry, and train for dangerous situations. This suspect could have easily shot an innocent bystander, and as always, it’s up to each of us to be prepared and understand that no one is coming to save us during the worst times.
