Israeli Has Struck A Target Near Damascus

Israel has reportedly struck a target near Damascus in Syria. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) struck a building that was being used by Syrian security forces on Thursday. The attack killed eight Syrian soldiers.

Tensions continue to rise in the Middle East despite the lackluster tit-for-tat attacks of a few weeks ago.

Israel Uses “Limited Scope” Attack On Iran

Iran’s restraint after the “limited scope” attack by Israel is the only thing that prevented a wider conflict.

The reported attack took place amid continuing tensions between Israel and Iran, as well as Israel’s war with Hamas in Gaza, which is on track to enter its seventh month next week. Israel has accused Iran of arming and guiding Hamas and pro-Palestinian militias based in Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon. Tehran, however, claims that Hamas and aligned groups act independently. -RT

The Israeli authorities have not yet commented on the attack, but West Jerusalem rarely acknowledges strikes outside of its territory. Iran has been threatening Israel, but seems to be responding in a more mild capacity,

While Israel attempts to wipe Hamas off the map, Iran continues to threaten to do the same to Israel.

Israel was also the victim of a friendly fire recently. A volley from an IDF tank into a building in Gaza where IDF reservists were taking cover killed two and injured two others, an internal investigation has reportedly found.

According to a report by RT, citing IDF estimates, noted that out of the 263 confirmed Israeli military fatalities since the start of the operation last October, at least 43 had fallen victim to ‘friendly fire’ and various accidents. The report listed poor communication as well as personnel fatigue and inattentiveness as some of the reasons.

Israel launched its massive offensive in the densely-populated Palestinian enclave following the deadly October 7th incursion by Hamas militants, which claimed the lives of an estimated 1,200 Israelis, mostly civilians. Israel’s retaliatory ground operation and air bombardments have so far killed more than 34,000 people, according to Gaza authorities.
