Russia Accuses France Of Getting Ready To Deploy Troops To Ukraine

by Tommy Grant

Sergey Naryshkin, who is the director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, has revealed that the Kremlin has alleged “intelligence” indicating that France is preparing to deploy a military contingent of 2,000 troops to Ukraine.  This news comes on the heels of French President Emmanuel Macron’s comments that Western backers of Ukraine should put boots on the ground.

French Ruler Suggests “Boots On The Ground” To Defeat Russia

Macron’s comments were met with criticism from Russia (and elsewhere), where Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov suggested that Macron’s stance might lead to France’s increased involvement in the conflict.

Russia has repeatedly warned the West against sending soldiers to assist Kyiv, but those threats are continuing to fall upon deaf ears.

Russia Warns NATO Against Sending Any Troops To Ukraine As “Frightening” Escalation Looms

“The current leadership of the country appears indifferent to the welfare of ordinary French citizens and the concerns of military leaders,” Naryshkin remarked according to a report by Tass. “Our information suggests that preparations are underway for sending a contingent to Ukraine. Initially, this group will consist of approximately 2,000 troops.”

“This sizable deployment will inevitably become a prominent target for Russian armed forces, inviting the same fate suffered by previous French incursions into the Russian sphere,” he stressed, referencing previous French invasions of Russia in the 19th and early 20th centuries. “The present leadership of the nation [France] demonstrates a lack of concern for the lives of ordinary French citizens or the apprehensions of military officials.”

The French Ministry of Armed Forces responded to Russia’s assertions, refuting any validity in the allegations. The Ministry stated that Naryshkin’s claim was merely another instance of the Kremlin’s “consistent utilization of disinformation.” -Natural News

Comments seem critical of Macron’s suggestions while Russia simply issues more threats.
