WAR ALERT: Trump Administration Considers “Murder Mission” And Seizure Of Venezuela Oil Fields

United States President Donald Trump’s administration is considering several ideas to remove Nicolas Maduro from power. Every single one of them will ignite a war, including the seizure of Venezuelan oil fields.

One of the most egregious ideas is to send the U.S. Navy Seals on a “murder mission” to kill Maduro. According to a report by the New York Times [behind a paywall] on Wednesday, citing anonymous officials. The idea from the war mongers in the U.S. would be to deploy Special Operations forces, including the elite Delta Force and SEAL Team 6, known as the Navy SEALs, to capture or kill Maduro, the outlet claimed. The White House would seek to bypass existing restrictions on targeting foreign leaders by characterizing Maduro as the leader of a narcoterrorist gang, echoing justifications for U.S. airstrikes against drug-smuggling vessels, the article stated.

The U.S. has already committed several war crimes in its killing of civilians operating what it claims are narcotics boats bound for American cities. There has not been a single shred of evidence that these people were “narco terrorists” and deserved the death penalty without a trial.

Another idea proposed by the Trump Administration could include a combination of airstrikes against military installations that support Maduro, special operations missions targeting the president directly, and efforts to seize control of Venezuela’s oil fields and infrastructure. A proposed scenario reportedly involves airstrikes against military facilities, some of which U.S. officials claim might be involved in facilitating drug trafficking, the outlet said. The aim of this approach would be to collapse Venezuelan military support for Maduro, according to a report by RT.

The report comes after a recent US military buildup in the Caribbean, following Trump’s accusation that Maduro is tied to “narcoterrorist” networks that smuggle drugs into the United States. Trump has also authorized CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) operations in Venezuela over alleged state-backed trafficking.

According to multiple media reports last week, Washington is already planning to conduct operations inside Venezuela. The U.S. has identified potential targets allegedly linked to drug smuggling, although no evidence was presented. The U.S. ruling class has also deployed around 10,000 soldiers and eight Navy warships to the region.

This is a provocation, and Maduro is correct that it certainly looks like the Trump administration is looking for an excuse to go to war.
