Defense and Air Force officials are working to restore retirement funds to thousands of Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard members who have joined the military since 2018 and were mistakenly left out of the Blended Retirement System.Officials estimate that more than 13,000 service members have been affected, including about 4,500 Reserve airmen and more than 7,000 Air Guard members. The Air Force has tested a new variation of its ship-killing Quicksink guided bomb to expand its options for taking out enemy vessels in a future war.In a June 4 statement, the service said it dropped a 500-pound version of Quicksink, made from a GBU-38 Joint Direct Attack Munition, or JDAM, from a B-2 Spirit stealth bomber at Eglin Air Force Base’s Gulf Test Range off the coast of Florida. As if the bird flu hadn’t impacted the egg supply enough, now a Salmonella outbreak has caused the recall of 1.7 million eggs. The outbreak has been traced to eggs distributed by August Egg Company. It has infected 79 people across Arizona, California, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, Nevada, and Washington, with 21 hospitalized. There have been no reported deaths, federal authorities announced. The contaminated eggs, including brown organic and cage-free varieties, were sold in the aforementioned nine states between February and May 2025.
