Iran Strikes Israel in Retaliation The president added that he is not surprised by the allies’ inaction. “We will protect them, but they will do nothing for us, in particular, in a time of need,” he wrote on Truth Social on Tuesday. An agreement between the Justice Department and the Department of Veterans Affairs allows the VA to put veterans under guardianship if they are unable to make their own health care decisions. A memorandum of understanding announced last week by the department gives VA attorneys the legal authority to enter into state court guardianships or conservatorship proceedings in cases where veterans don’t have family or legal representation to determine medical treatment. VA officials say the process will help hundreds of veterans hospitalized at VA facilities who are unable to transition to more appropriate settings. “Our new partnership with the Justice Department reflects our ongoing…

Tens of thousands of unarmed civilians killed by their own government. No charges. No arrests. And no right to keep and bear arms. It is estimated that Iranian police, military, and paramilitary forces have murdered more than 36,000 unarmed citizens in recent months. The real number won’t be known until the regime falls, if it ever does. Not a single member of Iran’s security apparatus has faced arrest or charges for any of those killings. Not one. That’s what happens when a government strips its people of the means to resist. Iran confiscated privately owned firearms decades ago, leaving its…

This article was originally published by Joseph T. Salerno at the Mises Institute.  This article is adapted from a lecture presented at the 2025 Supporters Summit in Delray Beach, Florida. I want to start with a confession: I love falling prices. I love deflation. I want all prices to go down to a nickel. I stole that line from Murray Rothbard. It’s not inflation that we should fear, it’s the opposite— deflationphobia, which is the fear of falling prices. We should fear deflationphobia because it leads to a very dangerous institutional monetary policy: inflation targeting. So, let me begin with…

When the grid goes down and normal communication channels collapse, the ability to transmit information clearly and accurately over a radio could be the difference between life and death. That is not a dramatic overstatement. It is the reason the military alphabet exists. The military alphabet, officially known as the NATO phonetic alphabet, assigns a specific code word to each letter of the alphabet. Instead of saying the letter C over a crackling radio and hoping it does not get confused with B, D, E, G, P, T, V, or Z, you say Charlie. There is no ambiguity. No room…

Running a suppressor on your hunting rifle changes the entire experience. The blast that used to send every deer in the county sprinting for the next county over becomes something far more manageable. Your ears stay intact. Your hunting buddy doesn’t need to wait five minutes for you to dig out your ear pro. And the follow-up shot, if you need it, happens without your hearing turning into a high-pitched ring. But none of that matters much if you’ve paired your can with the wrong cartridge. The cartridge you shoot suppressed matters just as much as the suppressor itself, sometimes…
