Embattled U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, who is in a heated primary race to keep his Senate seat, has sent some pointed follow-up questions to Robert Cekada, deputy director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Tobacco (ATF), following Cekada’s recent confirmation hearing. In the letter, Sen. Cornyn covered everything from the plan to add 800 new ATF agents to the ATF’s secret “backdoor” registry of 1 billion guns compiled from transaction records of firearms licensees who have gone out of business. Cekada addressed many of the same questions at the hearing, but Cornyn was seeking additional information on…

A stack of cash used to feel like a reliable backup. Everyone agreed on this – if the power went out or banks stopped working for a few days, those bills could still get you food, fuel, or whatever you needed. That idea stuck around for decades, and for a long time, it made perfect sense. But look at what has been happening around cash lately. More stores prefer digital payments. Banks are tightening rules around large withdrawals. Governments are openly working on digital currencies that would exist entirely inside the financial system. The role of cash is slowly shrinking.…
U.S. Marines were recently recognized for a non-combat rescue on Jan. 15, 2026, when a vehicle lost control and rolled off of a ridge at Camp Pendleton, California. Cpl. Malakai Obed and Cpl. Caden Perez were driving toward the base’s main gate when a nearby car suddenly became involved in a serious accident, according to a release. A metal trailer hitch from a truck ahead of the family’s vehicle came loose and flew into the car’s windshield, the release said, striking the driver in the head. The woman behind the wheel lost consciousness and swerved violently off the road and…

Every suppressor manufacturer on the planet will tell you theirs are quiet. That is not exactly a bold claim for a marketing department to make. The good news is that since 2023, a different kind of test has been changing the conversation. The TBAC (Thunder Beast Arms Company) Silencer Summit brings competing manufacturers to the same facility, puts their cans on the same rifles with the same ammunition, and measures everything with professional B&K PULSE equipment. Nobody gets to cherry-pick the numbers. The 2025 Summit, held in Cheyenne, Wyoming, ran for five days in August and covered more than 375…
The U.S. Navy and the Pentagon’s Defense Innovation Unit chose Anduril to participate in the Combat Autonomous Maritime Platform Project, or CAMP program, to develop an extra-large unmanned underwater vessel. The Pentagon announced the CAMP program last April with the release of a solicitation calling for a new class of XL-AUV, or extra large underwater vehicle. The solicitation called for a large underwater vessel that could maneuver in GPS-denied environments, dive over roughly 656 feet (200 meters) deep and drop “various payloads to the sea floor.” It specified that the vessel had to stay underwater for prolonged periods and be able…
Since the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill last year removed the $200 tax on suppressors, short-barreled rifles (SBRs), short-barreled shotguns (SBSs), and firearms classified as “any other weapons,” the National Firearms Act (NFA) is basically a tax law without taxes. That’s why at least three lawsuits have been filed in different courts across the nation challenging the remainder of the law. One such case, Peterson v. United States, could be headed to the U.S. Supreme Court after the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that “firearm accessories” such as suppressors are not protected by the Second Amendment. And…
