If you carry a Glock 17 or 19, and who doesn’t these days, then you might be interested in the new Solis drop from Safariland. Safariland first introduced the Solis last year for subcompact pistols with lights and optics and now they’re giving the same treatment to the Glock 17 and 19.

The Solis is an Outside the Waistband (OWB) holster using Safariland’s ALS (Automatic Locking System) retention system. The ALS is solid and intuitive. It’s the system I’ve used on my duty holster for probably close to 10 years now. The holster is made from SafariSeven, which is a proprietary Dupont nylon blend that’s extremely tough, and withstands extremes of heat and cold. As an added bonus, it won’t mar your gun’s finish. The Solis has an open muzzle design that allows for easy cleaning and will accommodate a threaded barrel. The Solis will also accommodate a variety of optics and lights. You have the option of getting a paddle only version or one with both the paddle and belt slide.

If you’re looking for a Glock 17 or 19 holster for EDC, or plainclothes work, then the Solis is a good bet. It’s a proven, sturdy design, and the fact that it will accommodate a variety a lights and optics, as well as threaded barrels, makes it one of the more versatile options on the market.

Key features include:

  • ALS secures firearm once holstered: simple straight-up draw once the release is deactivated
  • Compatible with most Red Dot Sights
  • Compact Light Compatible
  • Two-piece reinforced holster body for increased strength
  • MSRP: $82.50 – $87.50

Check it out on Safariland.
