United States ruler and war monger Donald Trump said that he wants to use “law and order” to rule over Venezuela. He finally came clean and admitted what we all already knew, too: that this was all about natural resources.

“Law and order” will be required to take advantage of the Latin American country’s resources. Following the U.S. military intervention over the weekend, the country must first be restored to “law and order” and economic discipline before any future elections can be considered, according to Trump.

The military campaign has been criticized worldwide, and Trump is painted broadly as a dictator.  His own comments are doing little to help his case.

According to a report by RT, in an interview with the New York Post on Sunday, Trump brushed aside concerns that the unprecedented military operation that resulted in the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro could draw Washington into a protracted quagmire akin to Iraq or Afghanistan.

Trump framed the intervention as an attempt to save “literally a third-world country ready to fail” after decades of socialist rule. “We should run the country properly,” Trump stated. “We should run the country with law and order. We should run the country where we can take advantage of the economics of what they have – which is valuable oil and valuable other things.”

The U.S. consistently framed military intervention in Venezuela as necessary to defeat the “narco terrorism.” After committing several war crimes by sinking civilian boats in the Caribbean, Trump gave the orders to simply take over the country.

On Sunday, Venezuela’s Supreme Court formally ordered Vice President Delcy Rodriguez to assume the presidency to guarantee the “continuity of the State” and “defense of sovereignty.”

Trump immediately sent a not-so-veiled threat to Rodriguez, saying, “If she doesn’t do what’s right, she is going to pay a very big price, probably bigger than Maduro,” he told The Atlantic in another phone interview, arguing that he will not stand for Rodriguez’s defiant rejection. He also has stated the U.S. ruling class is “in charge” in Venezuela, not Rodriguez.

Trump continues his war path by renewing calls to take over Greenland and sending threats to Cuba. This is all about the oil and other resources that the U.S. can extract from these countries. This year is not starting off peacefully.
